Absolute Radiology is a Specialist Radiology Clinic founded in Taranaki with an emphasis on convenient and friendly medical imaging. This progressive new Clinic encourages a healthy work-life balance and is located just 50 metres from the Coastal Walkway.

They are looking for a Sonographer to join their encouraging team, based in New Plymouth. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for ensuring high quality ultrasound scanning is performed with a special emphasis on superior patient care.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Utilising clinical judgement/decision making to inform examination strategy and outcome
  • Ensuring the delivery of ultrasound imaging in a skilful and knowledgeable manner
  • Preparing written reports around examinations, critically evaluating your findings using sonographic terminology and with consultation with a Radiologist.
  • Ensuring that routine equipment cleaning is maintained including machine, transducer, monitor and cables.
  • Practicing procedures in an ethical and professional manner, ensuring health and safety regulations are always met

This position will require you to be a real people person, with the ability to provide a high level of care and understanding to existing and prospective patients, catering to their psychological and physical needs.

You will also have:

  • MRTB qualification as a registered medical imaging technologist or MRTB recognised overseas qualification with a current APC
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: communication, team effectiveness, and the ability to work collaboratively
  • Post grad qualification in Ultrasound
  • Excellent time management skills, including initiative and flexibility.
